What are your tasks at ULT?

I’m currently Head of Fundraising at ULT. This means I coordinate our fundraising strategy, lead a fantastic team of volunteers, and work on building partnerships, campaigns, and donation flows that support our projects – especially our big goal of buying a school.
I’m also leading the rollout of our Google Ad Grants project to bring in more visibility and support from new audiences.

Why are you involved with ULT?

Because I truly believe in the mission – and in Lea’s vision.
Education is one of the most powerful tools for social change, and I want to use my professional background in digital marketing and strategy to contribute in a meaningful way. ULT is a space where impact and heart go hand in hand, and that’s incredibly motivating.

What was your favourite subject at school?

History. I was fascinated by how events, decisions, and people shaped the world we live in today. It taught me to think critically, connect patterns across time, and understand the roots of social and cultural change – something that still influences how I approach my work today.

Where do you see ULT in 5 years' time?

I see ULT as a strong, international organization with a solid support base, a sustainable sponsorship system, and a fully functioning school that we helped build – filled with hundreds of children learning, growing, and dreaming big. I also imagine we’ll have a thriving volunteer community and exciting partnerships across Europe and Kenya.

Tell us a funny/embarrassing/nice story from your school days.

Back at school, when I was 12, we had to draw our “dream house” for art class—and let’s just say drawing was not my strongest subject.
So, in a moment of panic (and persuasion), I asked my mom—who’s actually quite good in drawing, to help me out… okay, to do it for me.
The result? A stunningly detailed, borderline architectural rendering of a house with shading, perspective, and even tiny flower boxes. I proudly handed it in, thinking I had nailed it.
The next day, the teacher looked at me, raised an eyebrow, and simply said, “Aldo… did you really draw this?” I tried to keep a straight face, but she saw right through me.
Lesson learned: if you’re going to cheat in art class, at least try to match your own skill level!
