Today, we want to talk about something that truly matters to us. Our heart. The people behind ULT.
Our volunteers.
ULT would not be what it is today without volunteer work. Every presentation, every event, every school sponsorship, every newsletter, every social media story exists because people choose to give their time. Alongside their studies, their jobs, their families, and their everyday lives, they consciously decide to give a little more. Time. Energy. Ideas. Responsibility.
And that is exactly why we want to be honest with you.
We are currently in a phase where several volunteers have had to pause or end their commitment. That feels different. Gaps appear. Tasks are redistributed. Processes need to be rethought. And of course, as a team, we ask ourselves what comes next.
Volunteering is not a lifelong contract. It is not a promise that lasts forever. It is a gift for a certain chapter of life. People grow. Circumstances change. New jobs, moves, exams, starting a family. That is life. And we are deeply grateful for every single minute someone has given to ULT, whether it was three months or five years.
At the same time, we are incredibly proud that a large part of our team has been with us for many years. What once started as simple introduction calls has turned into real friendships. We have gone through stressful phases, big events, emotional milestones, and moments of doubt together. We have laughed, debated, organized, occasionally complained, and always kept going.
What makes ULT special is not only the work we do. It is the atmosphere in which we do it. We are not an anonymous organization with distant structures. We are a team that carries each other. Yes, we work professionally and with structure. But we also work with heart. Our meetings are well organized and at the same time full of inside jokes. We talk about budgets, project plans, and funding applications, and five minutes later we are laughing together about Chapati.
This family feeling does not happen by accident. It happens because people are allowed to bring themselves in. With their ideas. With their strengths. With their personality. No one has to be perfect. But everyone gets to be real.
We would love to welcome new people who want to be part of this journey. We are looking for support in social media, in the newsletter team, in accounting, in event planning, and in foundation work and grant applications. Each of these areas carries real responsibility, but also a lot of creative freedom.
It truly does not matter whether you have three hours a week or more. Every bit of support counts. And no one is thrown in at the deep end. We guide you. We explain. We grow into it together. Volunteering at ULT does not mean you have to know everything from day one. It means learning together.
Maybe you have thought about volunteering before. Maybe you postponed it again and again. Maybe you are still waiting for the right sign.
Maybe this is it.
Volunteering at ULT does not just mean taking on tasks. It means becoming part of a vision. Part of a team that makes education possible. Part of something bigger than ourselves.
And yes, it also means fun. Team evenings. Shared calls. Goosebump moments when another milestone is reached. And sometimes that quiet feeling of having made something impossible possible together.
If you would like to get to know us, reach out. No pressure. No complicated process. Just an honest conversation.
Because maybe this is where your ULT story begins. 💛
