Volunteer programme

As an ULT Happy CLUB member, you can stay in the Soweto slum near Bonface for seven days free of charge after six months of membership.

Annika is in charge of the volunteer programme and currently has a lot to do. On the one hand, there are currently either volunteers on site, for whom Annika is always available as a contact person, or there are counselling sessions on volunteering. On the other hand, she is currently revising the volunteer programme based on the experiences and findings of recent years. Thanks to the extensive feedback from our volunteers, we can adapt our volunteer programme to the needs of future volunteers and thus offer an ever more optimal and tailored programme. We plan to publish the revised volunteer guide at the beginning of next year. We also want to pay particular attention to the amount of time Bonface has spent with our volunteers to date. We want to minimise this as much as possible, as he already manages and carries out many of ULI’s tasks. We therefore want to keep the bureaucratic and organisational effort involved in tasks that can also be carried out from Germany as low as possible. We are also in dialogue with former volunteers in this regard.
