Fundraising - your effort changes the world

On December 3rd – Giving Tuesday – we are launching our crowdfunding campaign to purchase the BAS Academy. We are incredibly excited because all the months of planning and preparation are now reaching their climax and will be accessible to everyone. Purchasing this school will be the most significant step in our history – and we need you for that. There are numerous ways you can support us, because …

Change starts in small ways, it starts with each and every one of us, it starts in our community and through ULT. For us as the ULT team, the desire for change is what drives us; change is our vision and a matter close to our hearts.

As a supporter, you are already part of this change that our local team is able to experience every day. We will now tell you how you can have an even greater impact and how your efforts can continue to change the world! We present two wonderful fundraising stories from Marina and Charlie from this year.

Your birthday changes the world

You can organise your first fundraising right at your next birthday party! This is exactly what two family members of Marina’s friend Jan did. The two have had a close connection to Kenya for many years and expressed the wish to donate their birthday presents to a good cause. Marina’s mother then drew their attention to ULT. After finding out about our organisation and our work on their own, they finally decided to donate money to ULT. They also noted this on their invitation cards. Around 100 people came to the birthday party and Marina introduced us and our work in a short speech. After the presentation of ULT, Marina received a lot of positive feedback and also the feedback that they would now like to donate even more than originally planned. We are delighted to see how much passion Marina puts into this part of the organisation’s work and how well she presents and spreads the vision of ULT on a private and personal level. On the day of the birthday party, she set up a beautiful donation box that was just waiting to be filled. Thanks to Marina’s fantastic speech and the generous gifts of money from the guests, €3,600 was raised. What an incredible amount! Many thanks to everyone involved!

What makes us especially happy and honours our work in a very special way is that we were able to gain many new sponsors that evening. Now we can give more children the hope of one day being able to work in their dream job.

The celebration of love that changes more than the world of two people

Getting married is certainly one of the most unique moments in life. We were given a particularly great honour this year: ULT was allowed to be a guest at a wedding celebration – we were able to display flyers and the wedding guests were able to get to know our work. And as if that wasn’t enough, the bride and groom wanted all their guests to make a large donation to the organisation as a wedding present. We cannot express in words how deeply grateful we feel for this trust, this support and this dedication to ULT.

Your support strengthens our reach

This is exactly what a great idea from our team member Tine shows. She is changing departments internally at work and will be handing out flyers at her farewell party to raise awareness of ULT. The last few years have shown how important ‘word of mouth’ is for us. We are therefore grateful to both Tine and all other supporters who share our goals and visions with other people and thus contribute to the growth of ULT.

Christmas for a good purpose

We’re all familiar with it – the question of a wish for Christmas. How about a sponsorship as a gift this year, a ‘wished-for present’ or a membership in the ULT Happy CLUB? Take a look at our website and find out more about our projects!

Your ideas - your change

Would you also like to organise a private fundraising event for ULT? We will be happy to answer your questions, provide flyers, posters and a donation box and help you to organise your own project. Your commitment changes the world! Because: change starts in small ways,, it starts with each and every one of us, it starts in our community and through ULT.

Outlook December 2024

New in our newsletter

Thanks to the great feedback from our newsletter design survey, we have already implemented the revised design in the last newsletter. But that’s not all! We are now presenting (team) ideas, inspiring recipes and, from December, a new category on a rotating basis. We can’t wait to see how you like the new content! 😊

Christmas joy for our sponsors

The Christmas season is approaching and with it one of our favourite traditions: the annual Christmas updates from our sponsored children! We look forward to giving our sponsors personal insights into the lives of their sponsored children again this year. Our local team is already working on preparing the updates. They will be completed by mid-December so that we can send them out in time for the Christmas season. 🎄✨

Bassmassage Christmas party: We're part of it again!

For the second time in a row, we are supporting this unique event as a charity partner with our ‘Techno schafft Bildung’ initiative. On 14 December, the Bassmassage collective invites you to an unforgettable Christmas party at the Lichtlabor in Berlin. Let’s celebrate together, do something good and make the evening full of music and joy! Be there and join in!
