One Pretty Big Graduation Party. 🎓💛

Who says you need a university degree before you can put on a graduation cap and celebrate in style? In Kenya, things are a little different, thankfully. 😄 Graduation parties are also a tradition at many primary schools and preschools. Complete with gowns, those iconic square caps, proud parents and everything else that makes a proper graduation ceremony.

And of course, our ULT Academy wasn’t going to miss out!

17 children celebrated their graduation this year: eleven from Grade 6 and six from PP2, our preschool class. And let’s just say our children and teachers really went all out for this special occasion.

From Dance Performances to a Political Speech

If you thought a graduation party was just about handing out a few certificates and eating cake afterwards, you’ve clearly underestimated our children. 😄

The different classes had spent time rehearsing dances, songs and short presentations. The result was a colourful programme where not only the graduates, but also their classmates had their chance to shine on stage.

One particularly special moment was a speech delivered by one of our children. And no, it wasn’t about how exciting the upcoming holidays would be. Instead, our young speaker gave a little political speech about the important role children play in our world.

Some pretty big words from someone so young, don’t you think? 💛

Of course, the classic graduation moments couldn’t be missed either: a ceremonial parade, the presentation of graduation certificates and recognition of outstanding academic achievements. And right in the middle of it all were plenty of parents celebrating alongside their children.

A Certificate and a Whole Lot of Pride

Of course, graduating from primary school isn’t quite the same as earning a university degree. But for our children, it’s still a huge milestone.

Because behind every certificate are months and years of learning, practising, making new friends and probably the occasional homework assignment that was left until the very last minute. We’ve all been there. 😄

For our six PP2 children, it’s time for the next chapter of their school journey. Our eleven Grade 6 graduates have reached an important milestone too.

And the best part? They got to celebrate their achievements together with their families, teachers and friends. Because in Kenya, graduation parties aren’t just special moments for the children. They’re celebrations for the entire school community.

Little People, Big Futures 💛

The celebration was organised jointly by our teachers and our Kenyan ULT team. People who support our children not only on special occasions like this, but throughout the entire school year, helping them learn, grow and discover what they’re capable of.

And perhaps our little future politician already summed up the most important message of the day: Children aren’t just our future. They’re already an important part of our world today.

That’s exactly why we invest in their education. Not simply so they can hold a certificate in their hands one day, but so they can find their own voice and learn to use it.

So when we look at the pictures from this graduation party, we don’t just see 17 children in graduation gowns.

We see 17 little individuals who have just taken another big step forward.

And perhaps even a future president. Who knows? 😉🇰🇪

Congratulations, Class of 2026! We couldn’t be prouder of you. 🎓💛
