the swift resolution of strategic and complex issues

What are your tasks at ULT?

As a member of the advisory board, my role is mainly to support ULT in a consulting capacity. My tasks include:

  • Advising the leadership team in the areas of strategy, organisational development and change management
  • Creating presentations for the board
  • Designing, planning and running workshops
  • Developing strategic concepts and tackling key questions

Why are you involved with ULT?

I first heard about ULT through my sister Annika. She’s been involved practically since day one, and I’ve always admired her dedication – she’s been, and still is, a real role model for me. Her commitment inspired me to get involved too and to use my time and skills for a cause that truly matters to me.

I volunteer because I deeply believe that education is the key to a better future – no matter where someone is born. Through my work with ULT, I want to help give young people access to high-quality education. It gives me a real sense of purpose to see concrete change – whether it’s new school materials or a child going to school thanks to a scholarship.

What was your favorite subject at school?

Definitely sports – by far my favourite!

Where do you see ULT in 5 years' time?

In five years, I see ULT as an organisation that has successfully purchased its own school in Kenya – giving children real access to quality education.
I also believe that our amazing and diverse team will continue to plan and implement even more big projects. That way, even more children can benefit from education – and gain hope for a better life.

Tell us a funny/embarrassing/nice story from your school days.

In primary school, our whole school put on a play. I proudly told my parents that I was going to be in it – and that I had an important role.
They had a good laugh when they came to see the show and found out my “important” role was… being a tree. I just had to stand still and not move the whole time!
