Fantastic milestone – that’s what the "F" in "February" stands for!

This time, we have a major school purchase update for you! While our fundraising efforts got off to a successful start in December, the next steps have already been planned, documented, and set in motion. Now, in February, we have reached our first fantastic milestone.

Fantastic milestone? Yes! We have already raised 54,450 € for the school purchase, meaning we’ve secured the first 25% installment! At the end of last year, Annika and Marina traveled to Kenya and worked with Bonface and Beatrice (the school’s owner) to draft a sales agreement. Based on this, our lawyer in Kenya drew up a purchase contract. Both parties were then able to verify that all points had been met, allowing us to prepare for the next step. The contract was signed by both parties, and the first installment of €50,000 was paid. This means we are officially secured as the buyers, we can name the school ULT Academy, and the school team as well as the children’s parents will be informed. If that isn’t a fantastic milestone!

Essential for the continued success of our fundraising is you! Our fundraising team is working hard to build partnerships with companies and influencers. Charlie from our team explained why this is so important: “Visibility is everything in fundraising and crowdfunding. What we really need is a crowd :)”

So, be part of our crowd! Support us on social media by liking, commenting, and sharing our posts. Thank you for your support!

Big appreciation goes out to all sponsors who help finance essential school equipment.

Donors will have their names engraved on school items if they contribute a certain amount. A donation of 30 € funds a chair, 50 € a table, 150 € a blackboard, 1,500 € a solar panel, and 10,000 € an entire classroom. Since we have a limited number of these items in our new school, secure your spot now!

If donors agree, we will also post their contributions on Instagram to recognize their generosity.

Real quality education – that’s the driving force that motivates our team every single day. We work hard, brainstorm creatively, and spend countless hours in meetings to make our first school a reality. Huge thanks to our amazing team – each one of you is doing incredible work!

Urgent participation is needed in our upcoming livestream! You’ll have the chance to ask Lea your questions live and get a virtual tour of the school. Join us on Instagram or via a link we’ll send out by email!

Adventurous – that’s definitely how we’d describe our journey toward owning a school! We are also stepping into new territory. Our fundraising team is working to meet the requirements for Google Ad Grants. This would allow us to run Google search ads to spread the word about ULT – for free!

Resounding support comes from our long-term sponsors and supporters like you. Our fundraising team has launched an email campaign to reach different target groups, especially our sponsors and child sponsors. You already know us and trust our work – and we need your support now more than ever! With 150,000 € still needed for the school purchase, we have a big challenge ahead.

Your impact matters. Every donation, every shared post, and every conversation about ULT Academy brings us one step closer to our goal. Together, we can make a lasting difference in the lives of children in Nairobi’s slums. Let’s turn this vision into reality!

Outlook March 2025

Mental Health Workshop in Kenya

In February and March, our team in Kenya will receive special support: Pia, Lea’s sister, will be joining the trip! On-site, she will work with our team to develop a concept for strengthening mental health, which will then be implemented with the children. This wonderful idea came from Joshua, our secretary in Kenya. He reached out directly to Annika and Marina – and together, we are making it happen! 🌍✨

International Day of happiness

On March 20th, we celebrate the International Day of Happiness – a wonderful opportunity to reflect on what brings us joy! 🌸✨ We want to share more of these meaningful special days on Instagram in the future, spreading positivity and creating little moments of happiness together. Let’s celebrate life! 💛

Have a laugh!

Growing Together: Feedback Talks Starting in March!

To reflect on their work and strengthen team communication, the HR team places great importance on conducting personal feedback sessions with each team member every 3 to 6 months. These sessions are currently being planned and will be implemented starting in March. This ensures open communication and keeps the team’s growth in focus. 🌿✨
