Three years full of words, change, and that true team spirit 💛

A new chapter begins

Nicole has been part of our team for over three years – bringing heart, creativity, and a fine sense for words. During this time, she not only shaped our newsletter but also actively contributed to the development of ULT. Now, a new chapter begins for her. In her text, she looks back – with honesty, gratitude, and deep connection. 💛

Hi,
My name is Nicole. For the past three years, I’ve been putting ULT’s vibrant journey into words and sharing it with you every month through our newsletter. I joined UNDER Lea’s TRUST in March 2022 as the sixth volunteer. At the time, I was looking for something meaningful alongside my very theoretical studies. I wanted to make a difference – and be part of a motivated team.

A small team, barely any structures, chaotic and warm-hearted meetings – that’s what made UNDER Lea’s TRUST so special. We were a colourful mix of people – with little experience in what we were actually doing, but all with the same goal in mind: creating access to education. Changing lives. Bringing hope. With just a few hours of work each week, from our laptops.

One by one, more motivated people joined the team, and our vision began to grow. We were able to build structures, expand our projects, and help more children. Step by step, week by week.

When I took a three-month break to prepare for my first state exam, the whole team had my back. My tasks were taken over, and I was able to take this time without worry. That’s what makes our team so special: we meet each other with understanding, support, and care.

A special project close to my heart was our team trip. I brought the idea to the team and helped organise it. We spent a weekend together in Kassel and had the most amazing ULT time I could imagine. I really hope this tradition continues in the future.

Yes, this all may sound like a farewell letter from ULT. But my ULT story isn’t ending here – a new chapter is beginning.

In this next chapter, I’ll be focusing on my teacher training. So I’m saying goodbye to my role as a volunteer after more than three years with the team – and with you.
It’s been a huge joy and an honour to be part of the ULT team. Working in the newsletter and HR teams has brought me so much happiness, and every event has been a highlight – for ULT and for us as a team. Our newsletter team is now looking for new support. With Tine as Head of, I truly can’t imagine a better foundation to build on. So if you feel like writing for our newsletter, we’d love to hear from you!

A very big thank you goes out to the team members I’ve worked with most closely:

I’m excited to stay part of the ULT family and to see where this journey takes us next. And who knows what the next chapter will bring?
