For Strong Communication – Across Borders

Our Human Resources team is passionately committed to fostering great communication across all countries and cultures.

Several months ago, the HR team tested Slack and soon introduced it as the official communication tool for our entire German team. The goal: to move away from the chaos of 20 different WhatsApp groups, where private life and volunteering constantly blurred together, and towards a clearer, more structured, and more professional communication system.

After an in-depth review of Slack’s pros and cons, the German team made a clear decision: Slack will continue to be our primary communication channel.
But that’s not where it ends! This decision also sparked the mission to introduce Slack to our Kenyan team – making communication with our amazing volunteers in Nairobi even better. Our volunteer Aldo stepped up and is now holding several training sessions to bring Slack closer to the Kenyan team. With its wide range of functions and possibilities, Slack also took some time and several learning stages to become second nature to our German team. True to our motto, “Happy children, happy members, happy us!”, this step paves the way for a faster, smoother, and more connected collaboration with our volunteers on the ground.

Thank you, Aldo, for your dedication and heart! 🌟
