“Hi, my name is Penninah and I live with my mother and my siblings. My father has not been with us for a long time because he treated us badly in the past. We don’t talk about it. My mom does her best every day, taking on casual jobs, but it’s unfortunately not enough to send all of us to school.

I love to dance – it makes me feel happy and free. My biggest dream is to become a flight attendant because I want to travel and meet new people. I especially remember our school’s cultural and play day – it was such a wonderful moment. I’m currently in high school and almost done with my exams. The way to school is far, but I don’t give up. In ten years, I see myself studying beauty at a college. I truly believe I can make it. If I could tell my younger self something, it would be: Never give up and stay strong.”
