“Hello, my name is Jane and I’m 8 years old. I live with my grandmother, my brother Tyson, and three cousins – there are six of us in our home. My parents separated when my brother was born. My dad left without a word, and I only see my mom once a month. She lives elsewhere, so my grandma takes care of all of us.

She searches for work daily and we help her wash clothes to earn a little money – but it’s not enough to cover school costs. That’s why I need support to continue going to school. I love learning how to write, and I hope to improve this year. My dream is to become a doctor and help people. Music and dancing make me very happy. My favorite color is red because it’s beautiful, and my favorite animal is the lion – it protects its family. My role model is my grandma – she is strong and loving. I love math and English, although I struggle with computers. I’d change school punishments and improve the food if I could. My favorite teacher is Madam Elizabeth because she teaches so well.
