“Hello, my name is Angel and I’m 10 years old. I live with my mom and my sister. My dad left us when I was five. He was an alcoholic and once hurt my mom so badly that she lost a tooth. He even came after us with a knife – only the neighbors saved us. Since then, my mom has cared for us alone with small jobs.

Despite it all, I’m a cheerful girl who loves school. I enjoy learning and playing with friends, and I feel safe there. Math is my favorite subject, and my teacher Perris explains it really well – Kiswahili is not my favorite, though. My dream is to become a teacher because I love sharing knowledge. I sing a lot – Blackpink is my favorite – and pink is my favorite color. I love dogs because they protect us. If I had a superpower, I’d freeze things – just for fun! I describe myself as kind, honest, and generous. I hope I can keep learning. A sponsorship would mean the world to me – and ease my mom’s burden.”
