When One Visit Turns Into a Lasting Connection<\/mark><\/h2>

Sometimes, something life changing begins with one simple decision.<\/span><\/p>\n

That was exactly what happened to Lena. During her stay in Kenya, she visited our school in Kahawa West. She originally wanted to learn more about our work, but she returned home with much more than unforgettable memories. She became part of our team.<\/span><\/p>\n

Stories like Lena’s capture the heart of our volunteer programme in Kenya. It is not about “saving” anyone for a few weeks. It is about bringing people together, learning from one another and experiencing a reality that many only know through stories.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n

Joining our volunteer programme means experiencing the daily work of our local partners firsthand. You will meet the people who dedicate their hearts to our projects every single day, visit our school and gain an honest behind the scenes look at our work.<\/span><\/p>\n

This is not about taking perfect photos or ticking off activities on a travel itinerary. It is about genuine connections, meaningful conversations, shared laughter and the little moments that often stay with you the longest.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n

Every volunteer brings unique skills, experiences and perspectives. That diversity is what makes our volunteer programme so meaningful. Some support activities with the children, others contribute professional knowledge or help with ongoing projects. Our children and local team always look forward to welcoming volunteers. At the same time, we often hear that the experience changes those who visit us as well.<\/span><\/p>\n

Many return home feeling more grateful, more mindful and connected to friendships that continue long after their journey has ended. Some stay in touch with our team, while others continue supporting our work from home.<\/span><\/p>\n
